2. Service Description
Urban Dictionary Promote allows advertisers to purchase advertising space on Urban Dictionary for specific keywords. Ads appear on the definition pages for the purchased keywords.
3. Advertiser Responsibilities
3.1 Content Guidelines
Prohibited Content:
- Illegal, defamatory, or harmful content
- Hate speech, discrimination, or content targeting individuals based on race, religion, gender, or other protected characteristics
- Adult content, nudity, or sexually explicit material
- Violence, gore, or disturbing imagery
- Misleading, deceptive, or false advertising claims
- Content promoting illegal activities, drugs, or harmful substances
- Impersonation of other brands, entities, or individuals
- Copyright or trademark infringement
- Spam, malware, or malicious content
Requirements:
- Content must be appropriate for general audiences
- You must have rights to use all content in your advertisements
- Ads must clearly identify the advertiser
- Landing pages must be functional and relevant to the ad content
3.2 Compliance
- You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- You are responsible for ensuring your ads meet all legal requirements
- You must have the rights to use all content in your advertisements
4. Payment Terms
4.1 Pricing
- Advertising is priced at a daily rate per keyword
- The specific rate applicable to your campaign will be clearly displayed on the campaign creation page before you submit payment
- Payment is required upfront before your ad goes live
- All prices are in USD
4.2 Refunds
- Refunds are not provided for approved and running campaigns
- If your ad is rejected before it begins to run, you will receive a full refund
- Removal of ads after launch for policy violations results in no refund
- Payment failures will result in campaign suspension
5. Ad Approval Process
5.1 Review
- All ads are subject to manual review before going live
- Review typically takes 24-48 hours
- We reserve the right to reject any ad for any reason
- We may remove ads after approval if they violate our policies
5.2 Modifications
- Once approved, ads cannot be modified
- To change an ad, you must create a new campaign
6. Campaign Duration
- Campaign duration is calculated based on your total budget and the daily rate applicable at the time of purchase
- Campaigns run continuously in 24-hour periods
- Campaigns automatically end when the budget is exhausted
- Unused budget due to early termination for policy violations is non-refundable
7. Intellectual Property
- You retain ownership of your advertising content
- You grant us license to display your ads on Urban Dictionary
- Our trademarks and content remain our property
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, URBAN DICTIONARY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Urban Dictionary from any claims arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
10. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting.
